I've secretly decided to refer to one of my clients as "annoying abbreviation guy" because he abbreviates things that do not need to be abbreviated, to the point where it takes longer to figure out what he's refering to than if he had taken the time to spell it out. I'm not just refering to a quick line fired over the Blackberry from a meeting - fine, I get that. Abbreviate away. I'm talking about being on the phone with this person, as he "promises to have the TOC" to me by "EOD." Well, I'd like to point out that even after I pondered on it and realized he would send the table of contents by the end of the day, it never happened. Let this be a warning to you all: people who abbreviate to this extent are slippery marketing types who should not be trusted. Do not count on their ETAs, it's probably a load of BS.
